Chris Skaggs
Operations Manager
My name is Chris Skaggs and I’ve been with Alliant since 2014. I began using computers at a very young age on my family’s Commodore 64. I grew up with Microsoft Windows from version 3.1 onward. As a child I was always intrigued with the advancements of both computer hardware and software. In the mid 1990’s when the Internet became more prolific in homes and schools, I was taken in with the ability to research any topic and instantly communicate with individuals all over the world.
Having used computers in the early days when things were not so user friendly and you had to come up with solutions to make things work helped to develop skills for patience and troubleshooting computer issues. I have carried this affinity into adulthood, which has helped with my career at Alliant Networking.
My wife and I both grew up in the north valley and are now residents of Yuba City. We enjoy camping and hiking with our two dogs.
Christopher Lewis
Project Manager
My name is Christopher Lewis, commonly referred to as Lewis as I was the second ‘Chris’ to join the team. I began working for Alliant in November of 2015 just prior to finishing my Computer Science degrees at Butte College. I am currently the lead Project Manager here at Alliant responsible for planning, coordinating and executing major changes to our client’s infrastructure. I love the variety of the clients we maintain and the fact that no two projects are every exactly the same. This requires me to be dynamic in the way I approach problems and find creative solutions to difficult problems.
I was lucky enough to grow up during the time home computers were becoming commonplace and my family purchased our first computer when very young. From the moment I used the computer I was fascinated by them and wanted to know exactly what made them work. Growing up I was constantly taking apart electronics, putting them back together when possible, upgrading & building my own computers and learning everything I possibly could along the way. When I was older, I realized I had quite the knack for it and decided to pursue an education in Computer Science. After moving from San Jose to Live Oak in 2013, I attended Butte College where I later received two AS degrees in Computer Networking and System Administration.
When I’m not working, I spend my free time learning new skills, spending time outdoors hiking and climbing, reading or listening to books, fixing my truck, and spending time with my friends & family.
Luke Gerney
IT Support Manager
My name is Luke Gerney and I am the IT Support Manager at Alliant Networking. I started working at Alliant on July 1, 2016 and have enjoyed every moment of it. I thoroughly enjoy working with all of our clients and assisting them with any issues they encounter. Every day brings new challenges and solutions that allows me to expand my knowledge of computers.
I have been around computers since I was young. Two of my older brothers also work in the IT field and I gained a lot of my initial knowledge working with them. I have always been interested in technology, but only recently decided to pursue a career path in IT. I became interested in the IT field once I started assisting people with their computer problems in my spare time. I realized that I enjoyed working with computers and being able to assist people.
In my off time, I enjoy spending time with my wife and son. We love playing video games together that allow us to work as a team. If we are not playing video games, we are often going for bike rides, riding scooters, or taking our dogs to the park.
Jacob Alexander
IT Support
My name is Jacob Alexander. I am 25 years old. I am an IT Support Technician at Alliant Networking. I was born and raised in the Yuba-Sutter Area and went to Sutter Union High School and attended Yuba College. I am and always have been very interested in technology in general. I have been using Computer’s since before I can remember and have never lost interest. The challenge of learning something new is only dwarfed by the feeling of accomplishment I have from overcoming an obstacle.
I started at Alliant in February of 2018 and have really enjoyed my time here since. I enjoy learning new things every day, solving problems for the fellow members of my community and getting to learn from and work with my colleagues at Alliant. I look forward to further developing my networking skills her at Alliant and furthering my overall technical skills.
In my personal time I like playing video games, hiking, watching UFC events and spending time with family and friends.
Wesley Morse
IT Support
My affinity for computers and technology started when my mother bought our first computer, a Gateway desktop with a large CRT monitor. The time I spent exploring the web, playing games and saving things to floppies is still deeply ingrained in my mind and stands as the pad that launched my curiosity for all things tech. The rest as they say is history.
Nowadays I spend much of my time playing video games, hanging out with my family and girlfriend, reading history books, and going on trips to wherever I can go. My other passion besides technology is military history; I’d like to think I’m a sort of amateur historian and if you ever have a question about battles of antiquity you’d only be indulging me into conversation.
Here at Alliant I feel at home with everything I do and I couldn’t be happier here. The bevy of tools, information and resources I have allow me to be the absolute best I can be and I love working with all of our clients. I pride myself on my customer service and I hope that you all can see that too.
